Julie Engelhardt was born in a small seaside town on the New Jersey shore. Her curiosity and strong imagination drove her to explore many art forms. In 2008 she moved into a hollow in the forest of Tennessee and began painting enchanting dreamscapes of magical worlds and creatures. She is influenced by nature, color, magic, the unseen world and the mystery of life. She paints spontaneously and intuitively using vivid colorants on clayboard.
